Job summary

RIDE Mobility is seeking a skilled Electrical Transit Bus Technical Trainer to join our team. The Traveling Trainer will spend 50%–75% of time traveling to transit agencies, depots, training sites, and RIDE facilities to support lesson development and instructor-led activities.

The role delivers virtual, on-site, hands-on training to ensure participants can operate and maintain electric buses and trucks safely and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in electrical engineering, automotive tech, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years hands‑on experience with electric transit buses, including electrical systems, propulsion, battery management, and charging systems.
• Extensive knowledge of electric vehicle systems, including DC/AC electrical systems, battery management, inverters, charging systems.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Lead in-person technical training sessions on operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electric transit buses, focusing on electrical systems, battery management, propulsion, and charging infrastructure.
• Develop, update, and enhance training materials, manuals, and instructional resources for entry-level and advanced learners.
• Provide on-site support and troubleshooting during training events.
• Conduct hands-on demonstrations of bus systems and safety protocols.
• Monitor learner progress through assessments and provide feedback.
• Build strong relationships with clients and offer ongoing technical support.
• Plan and manage travel schedules for training assignments.
• Ensure sessions comply with safety standards, regulations, and high-voltage safety.
• Collaborate with Customer Service teams to develop practical product knowledge.
