Caterpillar Inc. in Mossville, IL, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer – Electric Motor to drive process improvements across the electric motor assembly.

You will partner with engineering, operations, logistics, and safety to design, implement, and sustain manufacturing processes that meet safety, quality, cost, and velocity targets. The role emphasizes hands-on shop floor leadership, troubleshooting, PFMEA/IPV, and continuous improvement initiatives for an integrated drivetrain energy solutions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technology degree is desired.
• In lieu of a degree, 2+ years in an electrical motor manufacturing support role.

Responsibilities

• Address daily process issues, implement innovative solutions, and assess the effectiveness of modifications while communicating improvements.
• Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to address Safety, Quality, Velocity, and Cost opportunities identified through projects.
• Develop, implement, and maintain shop floor processes managing standard work, routings/work instructions, BOM/MBOM, ergonomic requirements, tooling, lifting devices, SFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, flow diagrams.
• Assess and recommend systems, procedures, training, and equipment based on input from shop floor users, operations, safety, design engineering.
• Manage expense and capital requirements as it relates to assembly areas, NPI, product capacity increases, equipment replacement and day to day continuous process improvement requirements.
• Support continuous improvement
• Provides technical expertise and guidance to the value stream for electric motor manufacturing processes.
