You will design, develop, and implement processes and systems for electric motor assembly, interfacing with engineering, operations, logistics, product change control and safety. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent), plus experience with BOMs, PFMEA and control

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technology degree is desired.
  • In lieu of a degree, 2+ years in an electrical motor manufacturing support role.
  • Experience reading engineering prints and BOMs.

Responsibilities

  • Address daily process issues and implement innovative solutions.
  • Identify root causes and implement corrective actions for Safety, Quality, Velocity, and Cost.
  • Develop and maintain shop floor processes including routings, BOM/MBOM, PFMEA, control plans.
  • Manage expense and capital requirements related to assembly areas and continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical guidance to value stream for electric motor manufacturing processes.

The Manufacturing Engineer role is an important function within manufacturing engineering team, with a focus on technical process support for manufacturing safety, quality, cost, and velocity requirements.The candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise required to design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes/systems within electric motor assembly. Incumbent will interface directly with multiple teams including engineering, operations, logistics, supply Chain, product change control and safety. In this role you will work both independently and as part of a team to maintain and improve processes and systems used in manufacturing. In addition, Manufacturing Engineers function as a specialist and subject matter expert for technical planning capable of meeting and exceeding customer requirements.**What you will do*** Address daily process issues, implement innovative solutions, and assess the effectiveness of modifications while clearly communicating improvements.* Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to address Safety, Quality, Velocity, and Cost opportunities identified through projects.* Develop, implement, and maintain shop floor processes managing standard work, routings/work instructions, BOM/MBOM, ergonomic requirements, tooling, lifting devices, SFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, flow diagrams.* Assess and recommend systems, procedures, training, and equipment based on input from shop floor users, operations, safety, design engineering.* Manage expense and capital requirements as it relates to assembly areas, NPI, product capacity increases, equipment replacement and day to day continuous process improvement requirements.* Support continuous improvement* Provides technical expertise and guidance to the value stream for electric motor manufacturing processes.**Degree Requirement*** Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technology degree is desired.
