Job summary

Entergy in Port Arthur, Texas is seeking an Apprentice 1st Year to 3rd Year in training for high and low voltage line work, construction and maintenance of electric transmission and distribution systems.

The role involves assisting qualified linemen, handling poles, installing hardware, performing basic switching, and learning safety rules while gaining hands-on experience on energized circuits up to 600 volts.

Qualifications

• Under close supervision, apprentice performs less difficult tasks and assists others in high/low voltage line work.
• Must be willing to perform tasks related to construction and maintenance of electric transmission and distribution systems.
• Includes learning safety rules and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in construction and maintenance of transmission and distribution conductors and equipment.
• Assist in pole erection, installation of hardware, and pole handling.
• Learn to perform simple switching and routine inspections.
• Prepare reports and records and read job drawings/maps for hazard assessments.
