Job summary

Entergy Mississippi, LLC is seeking an Apprentice 3rd Year for hands-on field work in Mississippi. The role involves complex construction and maintenance on energized transmission and distribution lines, transformer installations, and safe planning of tasks.

The position requires knowledge of lines, tools, safety protocols, and the ability to supervise and train junior staff while supporting outages and maintenance activities. Onsite work with travel up to 50% is expected.

Qualifications

• Must have equivalent experience in related work, with Lineman 2nd Class qualifications.
• Experience in transformer installations, phasing and rotation checks on circuits.
• Knowledge of hot line tool work and safety practices.
• Plan and lay out work safely and efficiently.
• Handle material from stock and prepare reports.
• Act as supervisor when authorized and train new employees.

Responsibilities

• Make all types of transformer installations; do phasing and check rotation on circuits.
• Trace and clear grounds and opens on series circuits.
• Perform all classes of hot line tool work.
• Reeve blocks.
• Plan and lay out all work in a safe and efficient manner.
• Plan, check and report on material from stock; prepare records.
• Direct work of assistants and train new employees.
