Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor in engineering from an accredited institution.
• Must pass Aptitude test and Department entry test.
• Designer B eligible for promotion to Designer A with two years satisfactory performance.
• Ability to follow established standards and procedures.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Apply knowledge of National Grid standards and NEC/NESC to field and construction applications.
• Read and interpret line diagrams, site plans, load data, and other docs.
• Perform technical evaluations of electric distribution facilities.
• Use Work Management Systems to issue and progress work packages.
• Provide technical guidance to customers on electric service requirements.
• Communicate with customers, municipal reps, regulators, and contractors.
• Support internal departments for efficient work execution and process flow.
• Support teamwork and efficient practices across projects and departments.
• Travel as required to support duties.
• Provide on-the-job guidance and peer support.
• Respond to emergency call-outs and extended hours during outages.
