Job summary

Green Mountain Power is seeking a Distribution Designer to deliver distribution projects from design conception through construction in Vermont. You will survey facilities, develop electrical designs, prepare contracts and easements, and estimate costs with construction teams.

The role requires balancing priorities, staying self-motivated, and collaborating with customers, contractors, and GMP staff. You will review drawings, update systems for accurate billing, support storm restoration, and

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• General knowledge of electrical utility terminology, standards and regulations.
• Knowledge of electrical power line construction principles and technologies.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems related to design and construction.

Responsibilities

• Design and coordinate distribution and line extensions for overhead and underground systems.
• Assemble contract documents, easements, and cost estimates for projects.
• Coordinate with developers, customers, GMP staff and other utilities to ensure project success.
• Develop designs, review as-builts, and ensure documentation supports construction.
• Deliver complete work packages to field operations per schedule.
• Provide support during storm restoration as needed.
