Job summary

Lees Summit R-7 School District is seeking a Paraprofessional Specialist for the 2025-26 school year. This role supports instructional programs, works with at-risk students one-on-one, and helps implement IEPs and behavioral plans under supervision.

You will adapt activities, collect data, maintain records, and communicate with a range of professionals to ensure student progress and safety. 60 college credits and MO paraprofessional requirements apply.

Qualifications

• Adept at supporting instructional objectives under supervision.
• Ability to follow education plans and behavior plans for at-risk students.
• Maintain accurate records and support IEP goals as directed.

Responsibilities

• Adapts activities and materials to reinforce classroom objectives.
• Communicates with Speech Therapists, PTs, and other staff to support student progress.
• Collects data on behavior and assignments to monitor growth and IEP revisions.
• Provides accommodations to increase accessibility in general and special education environments.
• Keeps student information confidential and maintains required records.
• Models appropriate social behavior and supports smooth transitions in a culturally sensitive manner.
• Assists in delivering instruction under teacher direction across core subjects.
• Monitors safety during periods and de-escalates situations following district procedures.
