Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) is seeking an Immediate Long Term Substitute Teacher for ELD at Eastern MS to provide English language development instruction to emergent multilingual learners. The role supports students identified for ELD services and collaborates with school staff to address EML needs and family communication.

Under the principal's direction, the LTS ELD will explain the ELD program to parents, assist students adjusting to the academic and cultural environment, and act

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Maryland teacher certification in ESOL/ELD required.
• Fluency in another language preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans for and provides English language development instruction for eligible ELD students.
• Collaborates with administrators, counselors, teachers and other staff to support EMl students.
• Explains the ELD instructional program to parents and serves as a resource for students, parents, staff and community.
