Job summary

The ideal candidate holds MD ESOL/ELD certification, has strong communication skills, and can collaborate with families. Knowledge of second language methods is preferred and bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Holds Maryland teacher certification in ESOL/ELD.
• Knowledge of second language teaching methods and approaches.
• Fluency in another language besides English is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan for and provide English language development instruction for eligible students.
• Collaborate with administrators, counselors, teachers and staff on ELD needs.
• Explain the ELD program to parents and community members.
• Support EM L students’ adjustment to the academic and cultural environment.
