Qualifications

  • GaPSC professional educator certification required or eligible.
  • Master’s degree in education, education administration, ELA, or related field.
  • Ten years in K-12 education, including at least three years as ELA classroom teaching and seven years in leadership roles.
  • Excellent writing, verbal and data analysis skills.

Responsibilities

  • Align curriculum initiatives across divisions and collaborate with DOE divisions, RESAs, and stakeholders to implement program goals.
  • Plan, schedule and organize statewide ELA professional learning activities for teachers, administrators, and RESA staff.
  • Develop and refine ELA resources and web-based materials to support statewide standards.
  • Coordinate and facilitate web-based and in-person professional learning.
  • Develop program plans, guidelines, benchmarks, and communication.
  • Evaluate and monitor effectiveness of professional learning formats.
  • Provide technical assistance to local education agencies and state schools.
  • Develop budgets and supervise disbursement of funds.
  • Articulate policies to local agencies and state schools.
  • Manage contracts for ELA standards and initiatives.
  • Maintain knowledge of current research.
  • Analyze results and recommend improvements.
