The Fall River Public School System is seeking a Coach/Interventionist to support classroom teachers by modeling and implementing strategies and content-specific pedagogy to accelerate student progress and close achievement gaps. This role collaborates with building staff to plan targeted interventions and professional development.

The ideal candidate will have MA licensure with grade-level eligibility, at least five years of teaching success, and experience delivering professional development

  • Assess the level of services provided to each student based on assessments and proficiency levels.
  • Assist in scheduled meetings with content teachers.

Job description

The Superintendent of Schools announces the following position within the Fall River Public School System:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Coach/Interventionist will support and assist classroom teachers with modeling and implementing strategies and content specific pedagogy to provide student support and accelerate progress.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Valid appropriate Massachusetts license & valid grade level for the position.
  • A minimum of 5 years successful teaching experience.
  • Successful completion of the Massachusetts test of Educator Licensure (MTEL) in appropriate grade level for the position.
  • Demonstrated success working with teachers and administrators as a professional development provider, team leader, and/or facilitator.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and model collaboration with staff and parents.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and ensuring all students have access to high quality instruction
  • Experience in developing and providing professional development to teachers in content-specific pedagogy.
  • Knowledge of educational improvement planning and assessment/data driven instruction.
REPORTS TO:

Building Principal or Designated District Director

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and leadership to ensure that all students meet the appropriate learning standards as measured by the required corresponding assessments.
  • Increase student achievement using support research based strategies for improving instruction quality.
  • Prepares, models, delivers, and assesses instruction for teachers
  • Design, implement and participate in high quality professional development designed to support district-based initiatives, increase student achievement using strategies for improving instruction quality.
  • Facilitate development and implementation of rigorous and relevant curriculum for delivery to students.
  • Assists in assessing the level of services to be provided to each student based on assessments and proficiency levels.
  • Assists and facilitates as needed in scheduled meetings with content teachers.
SALARY AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

In accordance with the Fall River Educators Association Contract. Continued employment is contingent on work performance, program need, and funding. Salary ranges from $59,491-$105,164 from Step 2 to Step 12, Bachelor's Degree-CAGS/Doctorate Degree.
