Job summary

Achievers Early College Prep Charter School is seeking an Instructional ELA Coach to support teachers in improving curriculum and instruction. The coach will model best practices, provide feedback, and lead professional development to strengthen ELA outcomes across content areas.

Candidates should have a bachelor's degree, 3+ years of classroom and coaching experience, and NJ ELA certification. The role emphasizes collaboration, data-driven decision making, and culturally responsive instruction

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required; Master's degree is preferred.
• 3+ years working in classrooms and coaching teachers, preferably in urban schools and/or communities, with a proven record of strong academic achievement.
• Demonstrated history of collaboration-building trust with staff.
• Adept interpersonal and communication skills with diverse audiences.
• Familiarity with Google Classroom and virtual meeting platforms.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
• Valid NJ Teacher Certification in ELA

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate expert content knowledge in core subjects, such as ELA and Humanities.
• Provide coaching to teachers and support their growth.
• Analyze data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices.
• Implement techniques with teachers for increased student engagement and checking for understanding.
• Plan and deliver high-quality professional development on systems and pedagogical strategies.
• Plan and execute team meetings for content-area staff
• Conduct daily observations, model and practice with teachers, and give feedback
