Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an EI&C Drafter for a hybrid role in Texas. The position involves drafting CAD-based mechanical and electrical drawings for oil and gas projects, interpreting engineering markups, and working under the discipline supervisor to meet deadlines and budgets.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree in CAD technology, strong communication, and proficiency with CAD tools and MS Office. Travel may be required, and OSHA safety policies must be followed.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in CAD Technology preferred (Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical, etc. acceptable)
• Previous drafting and field experience NOT required
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, computer-aided design (CAD) and other job related software
• Customer service oriented with passion for high customer satisfaction and achieving operational excellence; ability to interact with all levels of staff including senior management, internal and external customers
• Ability to prioritize work flow, multitask, meet deadlines and remain flexible
• Must be able to demonstrate attention to accuracy on all duties and responsibilities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• Must comply with Company and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) established safety policies and requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide general drafting CAD-based mechanical and electrical drawings for O&G projects while expanding knowledge on the application of drafting principles
• Work under general direction of discipline supervisor in accordance with specific instructions regarding project deadlines, priorities, and budget constraints
• Utilize company and project drafting standards, adheres to plans and schedules
• Perform the necessary fieldwork; pulling measurements, locating tie-ins, as-building existing systems, etc.
• Maintain effective communication with project team members
• Provide support to other drafters and project team members in order to ensure a complete and timely design deliverable
