Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer for EHV substations (765kV) with extensive substation design experience. The role involves technical leadership, design deliverables, and coordination with clients, vendors and project teams across multiple U.S. locations.

The position emphasizes protection & control design, budgeting, and mentorship, with potential travel to project sites and client offices. A PE license and 5+ years in relevant work are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
• Onboarding requirements may include background checks/drug screen.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Function as Technical Specialist or Project Lead on substation projects.
• Develop protection and control design deliverables including relays and diagrams.
• Prepare equipment specifications and Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Communicate and coordinate project activities with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Travel to client/vendor offices/sites for design reviews and field verifications.
• Prepare and manage design budgets and schedules.
• Provide mentorship to junior team members.
• Support business development or pursuit activities.
