Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer for substations to lead and contribute to high‑voltage projects across multiple locations. The role emphasizes technical leadership, design coordination, and collaboration with clients, vendors, and internal teams.

You’ll work in a hybrid setting with opportunities for travel to client sites, and support development across HV substations, protection & controls, yard layouts, and BOM preparation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
• Experience with high voltage substations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support substation projects up to 765kV.
• Develop protection and control design deliverables.
• Create yard layouts, grounding, and power systems for HV substations.
• Prepare equipment specs and BOMs.
• Mentor junior team members.
• Present designs to clients and coordinate with vendors.
