Job summary

VIVA USA Inc in Pomona, CA is seeking an EHS Technician to support health, safety and environmental programs at the plant. You will assist with investigations, audits, reporting, and training to prevent incidents and ensure regulatory compliance.

The role involves frequent EHS tours, updating records, managing hazardous waste, and contributing to recycling efforts. Strong computer skills and knowledge of MIOSHA/OSHA required; Fire Department background preferred.

Qualifications

• High School equivalent; 2–3 years of work experience related to EHS.
• Experience with spreadsheets and basic algebra is preferred.
• Familiarity with regulations such as MIOSHA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, MDEQ.
• Ability to use a computer effectively.
• Background with Fire Department or Rescue squad is preferred for safety-focused role.

Responsibilities

• Assist with accident/incident investigation.
• Maintain files and records pertaining to environmental, safety and industrial hygiene.
• Assist with the plant safety committee.
• Assist management/supervisors in preparing EHS presentations.
• Keep informed on current environmental, health and safety regulations and recommend policy changes.
• Conduct frequent EHS tours/audits and make recommendations for corrective actions.
• Review equipment/process modifications for EHS issues.
• Maintain the plant fire protection system.
• Assist with managing hazardous waste program: pickups, disposals, and shipments.
