Job summary

Akkodis is seeking an EHS Technician in Pomona, CA 91767 for a 12-month contract. The role requires 2-3 years of experience in the EHS field and offers an hourly rate of $22–$25 on a W2 basis.

You will assist with investigations, maintain EHS records, support safety committees, and help ensure compliance with MIOSHA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, and related regulations. This on-site role includes audits, reporting, and training support.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years work experience in the EHS field.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards (MIOSHA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, MDEQ).
• Adept at using a computer.

Responsibilities

Akkodis is seekingan EHS Technician in Pomona CA 91767 for 12 months contract job. Ideally looking for someone with 2-3 years of experience in the EHS field.

Rate Range: $22/hour to $25/hour on w2. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist with accident/incident investigation
• Maintain files and records pertaining to environmental, safety and industrial hygiene.
• Assist with the plant safety committee.
• Assist management/supervisors/training technicians in preparing a variety of EHS presentations.
• Keep informed on current environmental, health and safety regulations and legislation and recommend policy changes.
• Conduct frequent EHS tours/audits of all plant areas and make recommendations for corrective actions for all environmental, safety and health problems noted.
• Review the installation and modification of all equipment/processes for EHS issues.
• Maintain the plant fire protection system.
• Assist with maintaining the plant EH&S database.
• Assist with management of hazardous waste program: incl. pickups, disposals, and preparing for shipments.
• Conduct a variety of EHS training including Lockout/Tagout and timely environmental training.
• Monitor contractor compliance with various applicable EHS laws and standards.
• Complete various environmental reports in a timely manner.
• Responsible for a variety of timely environmental projects.
• Assist with the improvement of the plant's recycling efforts.
• Assist with a variety of activities aimed at maintaining compliance with the plant's various environmental permits.
• Ergonomic evaluations and assessments.

Qualifications:

• Major duties include interfacing with department managers/supervisors in reducing accidents, injuries and property damage at the plant as well as protecting the environment and assuring the plant is in compliance with the various environmental permits and applicable regulations.
• Work with Division EHS to maintain an active EHS program.
• Maintain a safe and healthy working environment for anyone entering client site (contractors, visitors, and contract employees).
• High School equivalent, 2-3 years work experience in the EHS field.
• Background with Fire Department or Rescue squad would be preferred for the technician focused on the safety area.
• Experience with spreadsheets and algebra preferred. Adept at using a computer.
• Background: Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards, as well as MIOSHA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, MDEQ, etc.
