Job summary

Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA seeks a Manager of Environmental Health and Safety to lead daily EHS operations, implement programs, conduct inspections, and support emergency preparedness across the campus.

The role collaborates with faculty, staff, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and DOT, while fostering a proactive safety culture and training programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field; Certification in Applied Environmental Health and Safety.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in Environmental Health and Safety.
• Experience conducting safety inspections, incident investigations, and regulatory compliance activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise EHS staff and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Implement EHS programs, policies, and training.
• Oversee laboratory safety, chemical hygiene, hazardous waste, and biosafety.
• Coordinate regulatory reporting and inspections.
• Lead incident investigations and emergency preparedness.
