Job summary

Pegasus Steel LLC is looking for an EHS professional to assist the EHS Manager in planning, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs to safeguard employees. The role involves inspections, incident investigations, and maintaining regulatory records across OSHA and related standards.

You will develop trainings, track corrective actions, and help ensure compliance with federal and state requirements while coordinating with supervisors and contractors on site safety.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in safety engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Sciences or related field preferred.
• 1–2 years of related experience and/or training.
• Knowledge of delivering hands-on health, safety and environmental training.
• Strong knowledge of industry-specific requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the EHS Manager with planning, implementing and maintaining EHS programs.
• Conduct workplace EHS inspections and track corrective actions to closure.
• Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, implement CAPAs.
• Maintain OSHA records, EHS metrics, and regulatory records.
• Develop and maintain JSAs/JHAs, safe-work procedures and other programs.
• Conduct EHS training and maintain training materials and records.
• Support environmental compliance including stormwater inspections and regulatory requirements.
• Support emergency preparedness, fire/life-safety, evacuation and PPE programs.
• Collaborate with supervisors, employees, and contractors on safety improvements.
• Provide guidance on applicable EHS regulations and compliance requirements.
• Compile and report accident, loss and exposure data to management.
