Job summary

Orchid Orthopedic Solutions is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to support safety initiatives across our Chelsea, MI and Detroit, MI locations. You will conduct trainings, inspections, and regulatory reviews to maintain a safe manufacturing environment.

The role requires implementing EH&S programs, coordinating audits, and collaborating with site leadership to foster a culture of safety.

Qualifications

• Train employees on health and safety topics and track training needs.
• Conduct safety and environmental inspections and document findings.
• Participate in Safety Committee meetings and drive safety actions.
• Review and assess EH&S programs for compliance.
• Develop training records and document EH&S training gaps.

Responsibilities

• Develop and disseminate health and safety manuals and documentation.
• Handle chemicals and hazardous materials with proper procedures.
• Monitor EH&S supplies and ensure adequate stock levels.
• Coordinate internal audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead ergonomic risk assessments and recommend controls.
• Interface with OSHA, EPA, and other agencies as needed.
• Manage First Responder program and annual training requirements.
