Job summary

TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to implement and enforce safety and environmental programs on data center construction sites where fiber optic infrastructure is installed. You will partner with project managers, subcontractors, and client safety reps to ensure OSHA compliance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include site inspections, HASP development, JHA facilitation, PPE management, incident investigations, and safety training.

Qualifications

• OSHA 30 Construction Certification is required.
• Prior experience as an EHS Specialist/Officer.
• Experience in data center construction projects is preferred.
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
• Experience conducting incident investigations and safety audits.
• Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with company, client, and regulatory requirements.
• Implement and maintain project-specific Health & Safety Plans (HASPs).
• Monitor compliance with OSHA standards, local regulations, and data center-specific safety protocols.
• Facilitate daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, pre-task planning meetings, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
• Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
• Evaluate high-risk activities such as energized work, ladder use, lift operation, confined space entry, excavation, rigging, and material handling.
• Conduct field observations and coach employees on safe work behaviors.
• Assist project leadership in implementing corrective actions for identified hazards.
• Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and project environmental requirements.
• Ensure proper waste handling, recycling, and disposal practices.
• Support spill prevention and environmental protection initiatives.
• Conduct environmental inspections and maintain associated records.
• Deliver safety orientation for new employees and subcontractors.
• Coordinate required safety certifications and training programs.
• Conduct ongoing safety awareness and compliance training.
• Mentor field personnel on hazard recognition and risk mitigation.
