Job summary

Anthropic is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager for Data Center Construction and Operations to own EHS across construction, commissioning, and live data center operations. You will lead contractor safety programs, audits, and multi-employer site oversight.

The role requires hands-on field leadership, incident investigations, and coordination with EHS Lead, construction, and operations teams. US travel and field presence are expected.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of EHS experience with construction, mission-critical, data center, or heavy industrial projects
• Strong contractor and construction safety expertise, including prequalification and high-hazard work permitting
• Proficiency with OSHA construction standards (29 CFR 1926) and general industry standards (29 CFR 1910), NFPA 70E, lockout/tagout, fall protection

Responsibilities

• Build and run contractor safety programs: prequalification, safety plan review, site orientation, high-hazard work permits, audits, inspections
• Own EHS across construction, commissioning, and operations phases
• Investigate incidents and near-misses, drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions
• Manage EHS record-keeping, reporting, and contractor-injury tracking
• Drive safety culture across distributed sites and coordinate with vendors, contractors, and partners
