Job summary

LEAR CORPORATION in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking an EHS Specialist to join the Environmental, Health & Safety team at the plant. You will support the implementation of EHS programs, conduct safety inspections, lead risk assessments, assist investigations, and help with training to ensure OSHA and environmental compliance.

This on‑site role offers the chance to drive continuous safety improvements, maintain records, and actively contribute to a strong safety culture at the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and general manufacturing safety standards.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation and maintenance of plant EHS programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, risk assessments, and hazard identification activities.
• Assist with incident investigations, corrective action tracking, and follow-up.
• Support development, coordination, and delivery of EHS training programs, including new-hire orientation and refresher training.
• Assist with environmental compliance activities, including waste management, air, water, and chemical programs.
• Maintain EHS documentation, logs, and metrics, including training records, incident logs, corrective actions, and KPI reporting.
• Support internal and external audits, regulatory inspections, emergency response planning, and drills.
• Promote a proactive safety culture by participating in safety committees, plant meetings, employee engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support EHS program deployment for new or expanding plant operations, including baseline risk assessments, safety readiness reviews, and onboarding support during ramp-up.
