Job summary

Heartland Food Products Group is seeking a Safety & Process Improvement Intern to support our Safety team at our Indianapolis facilities. The internship offers hands‑on exposure to environmental, health, and safety initiatives and engineering projects aimed at reducing hazards and improving processes in a regulated manufacturing environment.

You will collaborate with engineering, operations, quality, and maintenance teams, assist with EHS policy development, incident investigations, and toolbox

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; CAD experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow and apply occupational and food safety regulations and cgMPs in internship projects.
• Support development, implementation, and review of EHS policies and programs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to promote a safety‑first culture.
• Assist with incident investigations and corrective actions.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
