Job summary

Heartland Food Products Group is seeking a Safety & Process Improvement Intern to support the Safety team across its Indianapolis facilities. The role offers hands-on EHS and engineering experience aimed at reducing hazards and risk through engineered solutions.

The intern will work with engineering, production, quality, and maintenance teams, gaining exposure to cGMPs, OSHA standards, and safety program development while pursuing relevant degrees and building practical safety skills in a

Qualifications

Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or engineering fields.
Interest in safety compliance, engineering systems, manufacturing processes and food safety.
Familiarity with OSHA regulations and basic safety concepts.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD or SolidWorks is a plus.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

Follow and apply occupational and food safety regulations and cGMPs to internship projects.
Assist with identifying hazards, inspections, and audits to improve safety.
Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions.
Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, maintenance, and training teams.
Support safety training and develop toolbox talks and safety materials.
