Job summary

AbbVie in Chicago is seeking an EHS Manager for Warehouse Operations to lead environmental, health, and safety programs across storage and distribution. You will develop strategies to protect people, products, and the environment while driving compliant, efficient warehouse performance.

You will partner with Global EHS, Supply Chain, Quality, and Facilities to identify hazards, reduce risk, and foster a proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EHS-related field and 5+ years of EHS experience or Master’s degree with 3+ years of EHS experience.
• Experience implementing EHS regulations and interacting with regulatory agencies.
• Ability to develop action plans and resource requirements.
• Ability to establish standards and policies.
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Proven ability to manage projects and programs independently.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs for warehouse operations and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide EHS guidance during planning, installations, and process changes.
• Set annual EHS goals, metrics, and improvement priorities and report to leadership.
• Promote proactive safety culture through engagement and accountability.
• Conduct job hazard analyses, risk assessments, and safety observations.
• Manage environmental programs including waste, recycling, and chemical storage.
• Lead or support investigations of injuries, near misses, and other EHS events.
• Develop and maintain warehouse emergency response plans and drills.
• Manage warehouse safety training program and EHS training across warehouse functions.
