Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in EHS field, occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, or engineering/science.
• Experience in either the chemical, gas or oil industry.
• Experience in managing both safety and environmental fields, with emphasis on environmental.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements programs monitoring, controlling, and preventing chemical, physical, and biological hazards at the facility.
• Surveys, analyzes data relating to occupational and environmental health issues (chemical exposure, noise, dust, etc.).
• Evaluates health and safety performance, conducts internal audits, trainings, and makes recommendations to management.
• Maintains material safety data sheets, policies, and procedures for hazardous materials.
• Responsible for all EHS department equipment.
• Implements or recommends control measures for exposure to hazardous materials or conditions.
• Supervises outside environmental contractors.
• Maintains OSHA compliance and provides technical guidance to management and agencies.
• Monitors EPA and OSHA standards in compliance with laws and regulations.
• Develops and implements a program to monitor worker injuries through investigations and corrective actions.
• Keeps current with industry developments and governmental regulations.
• Develops and facilitates training for workers on EHS topics.
