Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager for our fast-paced food manufacturing operation in Vernon, California. You will lead all EHS programs, partner with operations, and drive a proactive safety culture while ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and Cal/OSHA.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in EHS leadership in food manufacturing, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and certifications such as CSP/CHMM are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of EHS leadership experience within food manufacturing or related manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, Cal/OSHA, workers' compensation, and environmental regulations.
• Experience leading safety culture transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Proven success conducting incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
• CSP, ASP, CHMM, or related certifications are highly preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead all EHS programs, policies, procedures, and training initiatives for the facility.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, Cal/OSHA, and applicable environmental regulations.
• Manage incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and injury prevention programs.
• Develop and maintain safety metrics, KPIs, and reporting for leadership.
• Conduct facility audits, risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and behavioral safety observations.
• Oversee workers' compensation, return-to-work programs, and safety recordkeeping.
• Lead environmental compliance programs, including waste management, stormwater, air quality, and hazardous materials requirements.
• Partner with operations and maintenance teams to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
• Drive employee engagement through safety committees, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage regulatory inspections and maintain positive relationships with regulatory agencies.
• Support capital projects and facility expansions by ensuring EHS requirements are integrated into project planning and execution.
