Job summary

MEI Rigging & Crating in Oregon is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to oversee safety programs and field operations. You will lead policy development, incident investigations, training and audits to assure compliance and a culture of safety.

The role emphasizes collaboration with site managers, OSHA coordination, and ongoing program improvements to minimize injuries and ensure safe operations across our facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ EHS experience.
• Leadership experience in safety programs.
• Experience with incident investigations and OSHA compliance.
• Proficient in data entry and safety reporting.

Responsibilities

• Proactively identifies, designs, develops, executes, and maintains EHS policies and programs.
• Support training required by MEI, customers and OSHA.
• Provide program technical and administrative support in design-in-safety and risk assessment.
• Work with IRB and Site management to investigate incidents and root causes.
• Manage SIPP, hot-work permits, confined space, SDSs, and safety regulations.
• Conduct routine site audits of equipment, practices and procedures.
• Develop safety work instructions and JHAs.
• Review Pre-task plans and JHAs, including crane pick plans.
• Evaluate environment and processes for regulatory compliance.
• Develop On-The-Job-Injury protocol covering claims management.
• Prepare site-safety records, OSHA logs, IRB reports and audits.
• Address safety violations promptly and document actions.
• Develop ongoing safety training and certifications.
• Implement programs to reduce injuries and losses across sites.
• Coordinate regional safety activities for consistent rollout.
• Compile data and produce safety/health reports for leadership.
• Maintain relationships with OSHA and other agencies.
