Job summary

MEI Rigging & Crating is seeking a Safety Manager to independently support incident-free field operations across MEI sites. The role focuses on executing EHS policies, managing investigations, and safeguarding personnel and facilities.

You will lead training programs, perform audits, and coordinate with occupational health, insurers, and regulators to uphold MEI’s safety culture. Requires strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years proven Environmental Health & Safety experience in construction or manufacturing.
• OSHA standards experience (minimum 5 years) across multiple sites.
• Experience with MS Office Suite (minimum 5 years).
• Preferred OSHA 500 with ability to train OSHA 10/30; MSHA Part 46 certification.

Responsibilities

• Execute and maintain MEI EHS policies and programs to promote safety culture.
• Provide site training (OSHA, Forklift, etc.) and support incident investigations.
• Develop and program EHS systems and integrate practices into operations.
• Manage incident prevention programs, permits, SDSs, and safety regulations.
• Perform routine site audits of equipment, practices, and procedures.
• Prepare safety work instructions and job hazard analyses.
• Coordinate incident investigations with IRB and management.
• Communicate and address safety violations promptly.
• Train and certify personnel in safety certifications as needed.
• Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, OSHA, and emergency services.
