Job summary

Balfour Beatty US is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to implement safety, health, and environmental programs across projects in the United States. You will train crews, coordinate SH&E with project leadership, prepare safety plans, review JHAs and bid documents, and lead audits and incident investigations to prevent injuries.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years as a Site Safety and Health Officer, OSHA 30 certification, and USACE EM-385 qualifications.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience as a Site Safety and Health Officer.
• Must have current OSHA 30 certification
• Must meet USACE EM-385 qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead safety health and environmental efforts on the project with the Project Manager and Superintendent.
• Conduct new employee project orientation and basic training for Balfour Beatty and subcontractor employees.
• Assist in preparing safety related bid documents and project safety programs.
• Coordinate SH&E efforts on the project with the Project Manager and Superintendent.
• Attend subcontractor preconstruction meetings and review JHAs.
• Assist with material and equipment acquisition for new project setup.
• Conduct frequent project inspections and identify safety challenges.
• Establish and administer project safety recognition programs.
• Prepare reports of project inspections and assist staff with hazard correction.
• Conduct project safety audits and provide safety consulting for projects.
• Lead SH&E and project staff training at all levels.
• Establish and maintain a project crisis management plan.
• Conduct accident investigations and assist with OSHA inspections.
• Manage workers compensation claims and return-to-work program.
• Maintain project incident logs for injuries and OSHA recordables.
• Assist with sediment/erosion control and environmental responsibilities.
• Promote customer relations and reflect company values.
• Participate in industry, client and community relations to enhance company image.
