Job summary

Balfour Beatty Construction seeks a Safety Health & Environmental Manager to implement the company’s safety and loss prevention programs across DMV project sites. The role ensures subcontractors are trained in safety protocols and regulatory requirements, with travel among job sites as needed.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Safety/Environmental Health or related field, 5+ years in commercial construction safety, 2+ years of supervision, OSHA 30, and CHST or equivalent certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Safety & Environmental Health or Construction Management/Engineering.
• 4+ years of safety experience with breadth and depth of safety duties.
• 5+ years of commercial construction safety experience.
• 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• US Citizenship due to federal contract requirements.

Responsibilities

• Jobsite safety audits and safety program enforcement.
• Prepare safety start-up packets and compliance materials.
• Review project safety plans with superintendents.
• Maintain SDS books and on-site safety information.
• Investigate accidents with written reports.
• Address environmental issues and hazardous materials concerns.
• Provide safety training and track completion.

Education

Safety & Environmental Health B.S.

Construction Management/Engineering degree

Supervisory experience

OSHA 30 certified

US Citizenship per federal contract
