Job summary

Terrestrial Bio, Inc. in Massachusetts seeks an experienced EHS leader to own programs across two sites (Woburn and the upcoming Allston facility).

You will professionalize and scale lab and manufacturing safety, driving risk assessment, incident investigation, waste management, and regulatory readiness. Requirements include 8+ years in biotech manufacturing, OSHA expertise, and biosafety/chemical hygiene ownership.

Qualifications

• Education: BS in EHS, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or Biological Sciences; advanced degree a plus.
• Experience: 8+ years of progressive EHS experience in biotech/pharma or regulated manufacturing.
• Regulatory Core: Working command of OSHA regulations, hazardous waste management, risk assessment, and environmental compliance.
• Program Ownership: Biosafety/chemical hygiene ownership as an appointed leader is highly valued.
• Scaling Experience: Experience scaling EHS from research to manufacturing.
• Certifications: CSP, CIH, CBSP or RBP, CHMM, or 40-hour HAZWOPER a plus.
• Communication & Judgment: Strong writing/training, capable of strategy and hands-on execution.

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing Safety: Build and scale safety programs for a growing operation, including machine guarding and cleanroom operations.
• Waste & Environmental Compliance: Own hazardous waste and regulatory reporting at two sites.
• Risk, Incident & Emergency Response: Formalize risk assessment, incident investigation, and corrective actions.
• Training & Safety Culture: Improve training and documentation to scale safety culture.
• Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, and Scientific Operations to embed EHS into daily work.
• Metrics & Inspection Readiness: Develop safety metrics and readiness for OSHA, EPA, and GMP-adjacent inspections.
