Ryerson has an opportunity available for an EHS Manager. The EHS Manager will provide leadership to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations across facilities within their market. This position can be based in our Kansas City, Tulsa, or Memphis facility.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership in developing, implementing, and managing EHS programs, policies, and practices for multiple locations. Ensure recordkeeping standards for EHS programs are maintained. Coordinate with facility leaders to implement safety programs aimed at reducing occupational injuries.
  • Advise and train managers and supervisors on their roles and responsibilities regarding EHS programs.
  • Perform risk-based audits and inspections to identify potential safety hazards and work with employees to determine and implement effective controls and corrective actions.
  • Lead incident investigations for all injuries and significant near misses.
  • Drive continuous improvement in safety culture, participate in site safety activities, and transfer safety SOPs, procedures, and processes to market activities and projects.
  • Complete administrative duties timely, including electronic filing of audits, training administration, Tier II reporting, SDS compliance, and OSHA online reporting.
  • Work with location management and safety councils to identify, establish, and implement EHS best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, with responsibilities subject to change.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an EHS role within manufacturing or a metals service center environment, or managing EHS across multiple sites.
  • Up to 65% travel required.
  • Located near Kansas City, Tulsa, or Memphis facilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to train and mentor employees in a matrixed organization.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and multitask effectively in a demanding environment.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and leadership abilities.
  • Effective delegation, employee development, and team leadership skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-directed, professional, and dependable.
