Opportunity

Ryerson has an opportunity available for an EHS Manager. The EHS Manager will provide leadership to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations for facilities within their market. This position can be based in our Kansas City, Tulsa, or Memphis facility.

Roles And Responsibilities
  1. Provide leadership in development, implementation, and management of EHS programs, policies, and practices across multiple locations. Ensure recordkeeping standards are maintained. Collaborate with facility leaders on safety programs to reduce occupational injuries.
  2. Advise and train managers and supervisors on their roles and responsibilities related to EHS programs.
  3. Conduct risk-based audits and inspections to identify hazards and work with employees to implement controls and corrective actions.
  4. Lead incident investigations for all injuries and near misses.
  5. Drive continuous safety culture improvements, participate in safety council activities, and transfer safety SOPs and procedures to market activities.
  6. Complete administrative duties timely, including audits, training, reporting, SDS compliance, and OSHA online submissions.
  7. Work with management and safety councils to identify and implement EHS best practices.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned, with activities subject to change.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  2. Minimum 5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing or metals service center environments, managing multiple sites preferred.
  3. Willingness to travel up to 65%.
  4. Reside near Kansas City, Tulsa, or Memphis facilities.
  5. Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  6. Effective delegation and employee development abilities.
  7. Attention to detail, professionalism, and dependability.
