Job summary

AltaGas Ltd. in Blythe, California, seeks an EHS Specialist to own all environmental, health, and safety functions at the Blythe plant. You will shape programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a proactive safety culture with autonomy and impact.

Responsibilities include implementing safety programs, leading training, conducting risk assessments, and guiding incident investigations. This role emphasizes collaboration across teams to maintain a safe, compliant, and reliable operating

Qualifications

• EHS experience in environmental health and safety critical contexts.
• Understanding of EPA, OSHA, and related regulations.
• Ability to foster a positive work environment and uphold safety standards.
• Willingness to support on-call needs during outages or incidents.
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Preferred CSP, CIH, or ASP certifications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with environmental and safety regulations across the facility.
• Develop and implement safety programs (LOTO, confined spaces, fall protection, arc flash).
• Lead training and safety orientations for employees and contractors.
• Lead safety committee meetings and promote a proactive safety culture.
• Conduct root cause investigations for incidents and near misses; recommend corrective actions.
• Oversee contractor safety and ensure site standards are met.
