Job summary

AltaGas is seeking a Production Technician – Blythe Energy facility operator to maintain high plant efficiency and safe operation. The role involves issuing permits, reading manuals, coordinating with Engineering and Maintenance, and supporting emergency response plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year combined cycle power plant control room operator experience.
• High School/GED required.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Willing to work required overtime.
• Identify work priorities, meet deadlines, and function with little supervision.

Responsibilities

• Issue work permits after safety checks and ensure equipment is safe before maintenance or repair.
• Read operating manuals and P&IDs; schedule or implement procedure reviews as needed.
• Support Maintenance and Engineering to keep the plant mechanically sound through inspections and system trends.
• Provide on-the-job training to junior operators to progress to higher responsibilities.
