Job summary

AltaGas Ltd. operates Blythe Energy, a natural gas combined cycle facility. The role focuses on maintaining high plant efficiency and safe operation, with potential temporary up-relief as Production Technician Leader – 1 to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year combined cycle power plant control room operator experience.
• Familiarity with safety policies and environmental hazards.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Issue work permits after assessing safety and task details.
• Read operating manuals and P&IDs; review procedures as needed.
• Assist with Maximo duties: preventive maintenance, reliability checks, and work orders.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Maintenance to keep the plant mechanically sound.
• Respond to deviations to maintain safe operation and minimize downtime.
• Adhere to Blythe Energy safety and environmental policies.
• Support training and progression plans for junior operators.
