Job summary

Jobot seeks an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager for a PE-backed leading protein manufacturer in California. You will lead EHS programs, ensure OSHA/EPA/Cal/OSHA compliance, and partner with operations to reduce risk and drive continuous improvement on the manufacturing floor.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in food manufacturing, a bachelor’s in EHS or related field, and CSP/ASP/CHMM certifications preferred. Spanish skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EHS or related field.
• 5+ years of EHS leadership in food manufacturing or related.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, Cal/OSHA and environmental regulations.
• Experience leading safety culture transformation.
• CSP, ASP, CHMM, or related certifications preferred.
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead all EHS programs, policies, procedures, and training initiatives for the facility.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, Cal/OSHA, and applicable environmental regulations.
• Manage incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and injury prevention programs.
• Develop and maintain safety metrics, KPIs, and reporting for leadership.
• Conduct facility audits, risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and behavioral safety observations.
• Oversee workers' compensation, return-to-work programs, and safety recordkeeping.
• Lead environmental compliance programs, including waste management, stormwater, air quality, and hazardous materials requirements.
• Partner with operations and maintenance teams to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
• Drive employee engagement through safety committees, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage regulatory inspections and maintain positive relationships with regulatory agencies.
• Support capital projects and facility expansions by ensuring EHS requirements are integrated into project planning and execution.
