Job summary

Russell Stover Chocolates in Abilene, TX is seeking an experienced EHS Manager to drive a zero-incident safety culture across the manufacturing plant. You will ensure compliance with EPA/OSHA, embed safety and environmental practices into daily operations, and partner with operations and engineering for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include policy development, risk assessments, incident investigations, and workers’ compensation management, leading safety teams and promoting GMP food

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an EHS related program or 4 years of experience in an EHS role.
• 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations and compliance program management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the implementation of technical and administrative direction on all EHS policies and programs applicable within the manufacturing plant.
• Champion local Safety Pillar team; driving continuous improvement and fostering a proactive safety culture
• Oversee and ensure full compliance with all OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
• Review and update internal policies and procedures to ensure they remain current and aligned with regulations and company standards.
• Lead incident investigations and evaluations, ensuring corrective action follow-through
• Track and analyze incident reports and trends to identify root causes and implement actions
• Prepare and deploy training materials to support compliance and safety awareness
• Collaborate with operations and engineering to improve operational efficiencies and reduce compliance-related costs
• Provide strategic and day-to-day EHS support to plant leadership and staff
• Manage Worker’s Compensation claims and related reports
• Supervise 2nd shift Health & Safety Supervisor
• Adhere to GMP guidelines to ensure product quality and food safety standards
