Job summary

Russell Stover Chocolates is seeking an experienced Manager, Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) to drive a zero‑incident safety culture and embed EHS into daily operations across our Kansas plant. You will champion OSHA/EPA compliance, advance site environmental sustainability, educate employees, and partner with operations and engineering to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an EHS related program or 4 years of experience in an EHS role
• 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations and compliance program management
• Proven track record in delivering results by influencing and working with cross‑functional teams
• Ability to establish networks of peers in the factory to lead without direct authority
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to speak, read, and write English fluently

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the implementation of EHS policies and programs in the manufacturing plant
• Champion local Safety Pillar team; driving continuous improvement and fostering a proactive safety culture
• Oversee and ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements
• Review and update internal policies and procedures to ensure they remain current and aligned
• Conduct hazard and risk assessments and ergonomic evaluations; develop or revise policies
• Lead incident investigations and evaluations with corrective actions
• Track and analyze incident reports and trends to identify root causes
• Prepare and deploy training materials to support compliance and promote safety awareness
• Collaborate with operations and engineering to improve operational efficiencies and reduce compliance costs
• Provide strategic and day-to-day EHS support to plant leadership and staff
• Manage Worker’s Compensation claims and transitional duties
• Supervise the 2nd shift Health & Safety Supervisor
• Adhere to GMP guidelines for product quality and food safety
• Identify and address workplace and food safety hazards and maintain records
