Job summary

Celanese Shelby is seeking a Manager, Environmental, Health & Safety to lead the Stewardship systems and culture at the Shelby site. The role provides technical expertise, coaching, and active participation in site leadership to ensure compliant, proactive EHS programs across operations.

The incumbent will supervise program development, regulatory interfaces, incident reviews, and field observations to drive safe, sustainable practices.

Qualifications

• BS degree in safety, engineering, or environmental field.
• 7+ years chemical manufacturing experience with 3+ years in an EHS role.
• Strong knowledge of air, water and waste regulations, permits and reporting.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to champion issues and initiatives.
• Ability to influence across departments to foster a stewardship culture.

Responsibilities

• Develop, sustain, and improve EHS programs to ensure regulatory and Celanese compliance.
• Lead assessments of program execution and drive drift prevention.
• Serve as an expert to execute EHS programs at the site.
• Interface with regulatory agencies for permits, licenses, reporting, and responses.
