Job summary

Celanese in Virginia seeks a seasoned EHS leader to independently manage site safety and occupational health programs. You will act as SME for critical safety systems and drive continuous improvement of safety standards and procedures.

You will lead Emergency Preparedness and the Emergency Response Team, coordinate drills and training, and ensure regulatory compliance. Strong collaboration with operations, maintenance, and leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related discipline, or equivalent combo of education and safety training.
• Minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible EHS/safety experience in heavy manufacturing/industrial environments.
• Professional safety certifications such as ASP, CSP, OHST, CHST, OSHA 30-Hour or CIH preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own and independently manage site safety and occupational health programs to ensure regulatory, corporate and site compliance.
• Serve as SME for critical safety programs (e.g., Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space Entry, Respiratory Protection, PPE, Fall Protection, Electrical Safety, Industrial Hygiene).
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve site safety standards, procedures and safe work practices.
• Lead Emergency Preparedness and Response, including ERT program leadership, drills, training, and post-incident reviews.
• Interface with site leadership, supervisors, engineers and maintenance to provide safety guidance and support.
• Coordinate risk management activities, incident investigations, and root-cause analyses, reporting to leadership.
