Job summary

Hendrickson in Mt. Vernon, MO is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety specialist to provide safety direction and implement EH&S policies on site. You will support Vision Zero, lead incident investigations, and drive safety communications across the plant.

The role requires 3–5 years in health and safety within manufacturing, strong collaboration, and excellent training skills. Occasional travel to company locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Required: Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Industrial Engineering.
• 3–5 years' experience implementing health and safety programs in manufacturing.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for training and collaboration.
• Willingness to travel to company locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall safety direction to ensure the health and safety of associates.
• Lead EH&S direction through Vision Zero at the site and enforce policies.
• Pursue/maintain partnership with OSHA's VPP program.
• Administer site EH&S procedures and incident investigation processes.
• Develop and maintain safety dashboards and track participation.
• Manage industrial hygiene issues, audits, and corrective actions.
• Assess impact of new processes on employees and drive engagement.
• Collaborate with safety teams, supervisors, and managers to reduce injuries.
• Assist in Workers' Compensation case management as needed.
• Participate on the Safety Excellence Team and track KPIs.
• Prepare safety communications for education and awareness.
