Job summary

Amentum seeks an Environmental Health and Safety Professional to support the Space Force Range Contract. Duties include implementing EHS programs, conducting safety inspections, and providing technical advice to management and field personnel across contract locations.

The role involves risk assessments, regulatory compliance testing, and training development. A Bachelor’s in a related field and 3+ years in EHS are required, with travel up to 10% and Secret clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an environment, health or safety-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three or more years’ experience in the EHS industry.
• Experience in Safety Program compliance and field maintenance activities.
• Knowledge of Hazardous Waste and Material management processes.
• Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR including 1904, 1910, and 1926; familiarity with NFPA/ANSI standards.
• Background in Industrial Hygiene program requirements and field application.
• Experience with providing effective training on a wide variety of EHS topics.
• Knowledge of Federal environmental regulations.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with EESOH-MIS (preferred).
• Experience and knowledge of United States Air Force Standards and related regulatory guidance (preferred).
• Analytical and problem-solving skills for resolving issues.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members.

Responsibilities

• Support a comprehensive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Program.
• Identify and address environmental, health, and safety concerns with minimal supervision.
• Perform Occupational Safety inspections for contract-wide locations and provide technical advice on EHS programs.
• Support development and implementation of new EHS Programs.
• Conduct periodic risk assessments of infrastructure and programs and recommend corrective action.
• Perform compliance testing/monitoring reviews and assist in resolving observations.
• Research, acquire, and manage hazardous chemicals and disposal processes.
• Support regulatory compliance of air, wastewater, stormwater, and hazardous materials programs.
• Monitor changes to laws and disseminate pertinent information to ensure compliance.
• Create and conduct training on various EHS programs.
• Maintain and update compliance-related documentation.
