Job summary

Smithfield Foods' Omaha facility is seeking an Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead worker safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance across OSHA, EPA, and internal standards.

You will manage EMS and the Smithfield Injury Prevention System (SIPS), drive ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 efforts, and coordinate ammonia refrigeration safety, incident investigations, training, and site security plans with leadership. A strong communicator with field leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental, health and safety.
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience leading teams or projects.

Responsibilities

• Oversee EHS programs to ensure OSHA/EPA compliance.
• Lead EMS and SIPS implementation and audits.
• Coordinate ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification efforts.
• Manage ammonia refrigeration safety and PSM/RMP.
• Train production staff on SOPs and emergency response.
