Job summary

Smithfield Foods in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking an Associate EHS Manager to lead safety and environmental compliance programs. You will ensure OSHA and environmental standards are met and support ISO 14001/45001 initiatives across the site.

The role requires a Bachelor's in EHS with 3+ years of relevant experience, training responsibilities, and occasional travel. Relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental, health and safety or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience leading training, coaching or mentoring staff or managing a process or project.
• Able to handle multiple assignments, set goals and meet deadlines.
• Willing to work long hours, weekends and on-call as required.
• Capable of strategic decision-making under pressure and leading emergency response.
• Occasional travel to collaborate with others.

Responsibilities

• Support safety and environmental programs aligned with regs and company standards.
• Maintain EMS/SIPS and assist ISO certification efforts (ISO 14001/45001).
• Collect and analyze EHS KPIs and incident data to drive improvements.
• Coordinate OSHA and environmental training and emergency procedures.
• Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
• Foster safety culture with strong leadership and employee engagement.
