Job summary

Howmet Aerospace has an immediate opening for an EHS Engineer at our La Porte, IN location. This role is a key member of the location's EHS team, providing leadership support and a pathway for growth within the plant and Business Unit.

The successful candidate will work in a high-visibility capacity to advance our EHS goals. Responsibilities include leading fatality and injury prevention initiatives, analyzing incident data, supporting IH and environmental programs, and conducting root-cause

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field (safety, industrial hygiene or environmental)
• At least 1 year of safety experience in manufacturing or similar setting
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Proven collaboration skills and ability to drive results
• Knowledge of Federal and State EHS regulations and procedures
• Ability to make/justify decisions with incomplete data
• Execution-focused with attention to detail and drive for change

Responsibilities

• Lead deployment and coaching for fatality and serious injury prevention with site leaders
• Analyze injury and incident data and support management in injury reduction efforts
• Assist IH program including sampling plans, IH databases, exposure records and hazardous materials management
• Provide technical support in injury investigations and root-cause analysis with corrective actions
• Assist with environmental compliance activities
• Coach department leaders in executing EHS accountabilities
• Partner with site leadership to achieve EHS objectives
• Lead or assist with other EHS responsibilities as needed
