Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking an EHS Consulting Manager to lead a portfolio of consulting and embedded services accounts, merging on-site and practice expertise to deliver strong client outcomes. You will guide a team of EHS professionals, manage engagements, and grow relationships across clients.

The ideal candidate brings technical depth across multiple EHS disciplines and a commercial instinct to grow accounts, lead proposals, and oversee engagement economics. Travel 40–60% is expected.

Qualifications

• 6 to 10 years of progressive EHS consulting or corporate EHS experience with accountability for outcomes.
• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, environmental science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least one relevant professional certification (CSP, CIH, CHMM, CBSP, or equivalent).
• Experience across two or more EHS disciplines with ability to interpret complex regulations (RCRA, OSHA, air, water, EHS management systems).
• Experience leading proposals and managing engagement economics (scope, budget, margin).
• Experience managing client accounts or portfolios with accountability for satisfaction, renewals, and growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex, multi-disciplinary EHS assessments and programs across safety, hygiene, environmental compliance, biosafety, radiation safety, and process safety.
• Serve as trusted advisor to client stakeholders at site director and VP levels, owning satisfaction, retention, and renewals.
• Support EHS consulting operations through technical delivery, project management, quality control, and oversight of delivery services.
• Grow a portfolio of consulting and embedded accounts by identifying expansion opportunities and leading proposals.
• Manage multi-workstream engagements with disciplined scope, budget, and milestones to deliver on time and on budget.
• Lead and develop a team of 6 to 10 EHS consultants, with clear development plans and quality standards.
• Provide training, technical guidance, and quality review of team work.
• Spot new opportunities from on-site observations and client conversations and partner with sales to convert them into engagements.
• Make pricing and scope decisions that optimize total client value across integrated services.
• Interpret evolving regulatory requirements and translate them into practical programs to keep clients compliant.
